Hi All,
Just thought to share with you a recent question raised by one of our landlords.

Question
I want to rent out my property on a month by month basis as I want to sell it. is this feasible?

Answer
In theory an AST can be for any period you like, however statute says that a Sec 21 notice must be for a minimum of two months and although proceedings can be taken on expiry of a notice, possession will not be granted by the court until six months has passed since the start of the tenancy. Therefore your plan would seem impractical.
