Running Man

24 04 2010

Very much off topic today but it’s the weekend and the sun is shining so what better excuse can there be to turn our eyes away from property for a moment.

Being the sporty types that we are here at Belvoir we enjoy our exercise as much as the next letting agent. But every now and then we get a lesson in what it means to be a true challenge junky. And so it was this Thursday when we had the pleasure of joining Phil Thomas for a training run. Phil is a great guy who has come up with a very original way of celebrating the centenary of the city of Stoke-on-Trent and raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time.

Phil’s idea is to run a half marathon (13.1 miles – or 21 Km for those with a more European bent!) in each of the Six Towns that form the City of Stoke-on-Trent on six consecutive days. That Eddie Izzard character has a lot to answer for! In total Phil will be running around 86 miles finishing with the Trentham 10K on 29th May. Anyone who knows the Potteries will know that it won’t be easy and he’ll need his climbing legs to get him up some of the hills that make North Staffordshire lovely to look at but hard to run around!

We wish Phil all the very best in his challenge and hope to join him for a couple of legs and will let you know how it goes.

In the meantime you can find out more about the challenge at www.phil-thomas.co.uk and also make a donation to the Donna Louise charity whose fantastic work changes lives every single day.
